Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, Paris

About

The Museum national d'Histoire naturelle, Paris is a scientific publisher since 1802 in the field of Natural Sciences and Humanities. Currently it publishes journals, books series and monographs, as well as titles co-published with other major institutions.

The Museum Press is responsible for the technical evaluation and monitoring of manuscript through peer-review management to publication. The Press ensures the dissemination, storage and sale of the books published. Each title or collection is under the scientific responsibility of an editor and is peer-reviewed by international specialists. It is also under the responsibility of a desk-editor who runs the journals or monographs series.

The publications published by the Museum press are indexed in all relevant databases, and are in particular covered by Web of Knowledge (Clarivate analytics) and Scopus (by Elsevier). The journals have thus impact factors. All articles published within the Museum Press journals are available free of charge on the site of the Museum as soon as issued.

As well as identifying the author of a discovery, scientific publications aim to communicate the scientific results to national and international communities. Intellectual influence of a research institution and the evaluation of the work of its researchers are partly based on its academic press.
