Welcome to another issue of our Newsletter! Edentata 14 includes seven full articles, four short communications and two field notes on a wide range of topics related to the conservation of xenarthrans. Among others, you will find articles on the distribution of different xenarthran species in Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia; spool-and-thread tracking of Tolypeutes matacus in Bolivia; an analysis of the perceptions and use of xenarthrans in Colombia; anesthesia protocols for Chaetophractus nationi and Priodontes maximus; and a very interesting article discussing research priorities in the study of xenarthrans.

Make sure you don't miss our News section, in which you will find three book revisions and a short overview of the Second International Sloth Meeting, which was held in April 2013 in Suriname. It also includes an important announcement: the Critically Endangered pygmy sloth (Bradypus pygmaeus) is now listed in CITES Appendix II! We would like to take the opportunity to thank our member Bryson Voirin and Dena Cator from the SSC Office for their invaluable help to get the pygmy sloth listed.

At the beginning of the year we have renewed our members list. Our active group of committed specialists now consists of 21 members from nine countries, which are listed on page iv. We have increased the number of captive care specialists to strengthen the ex situ component of Xenarthra conservation. We have also incorporated two specialists working with the Critically Endangered pygmy sloth (Bradypus pygmaeus), one of our priority species. Welcome to our new members, and a huge thank you to all our dedicated members who have worked with us to maximize the impact of our efforts in anteater, sloth and armadillo conservation.

Last, but not least, we would like to express our gratitude to all anonymous reviewers who are constantly helping to improve the quality of our Newsletter, as well as the San Antonio Zoological Society, Conservation International, and the Greater Sac AAZK (American Association of Zoo Keepers) Chapter — Sacramento, CA for their generous financial support!

And as always, please don't forget to visit our website and facebook page to stay informed about what's going on in the wonderful world of the Xenarthra and to make sure you don't miss any future Articles in Press!
