Abstract

Parmotrema mirandum (Hale) Hale is shown to contain hypoconstictic acid as a major secondary metabolite and represents one of the few records of this substance as a major diagnostic secondary metabolite in Parmotrema. In addition, P. mirandum is reported for the first time from localities in the Mexican states of Guerrero and Morelos.
